Scones at the last minute

I did just about everything wrong making these scones - got the recipe from allrecipes.com - but they turned out great. I forgot the currents and had to sprinkle them on top at the very end, I didn't have a pastry brush, so my "brushed egg yolk" top is more like a bunch of drips, I added the sugar with the other dry ingredients rather than later with the butter, I cut them into triangles instead of circles, my measuring of the butter was really an eyeball job rather than precise.

Whew, what a hack! But the result was great. So there, recipe drones!

Essentially, the recipe is:

baking powder (4t), flour (1 3/4 c), sugar (4T), milk (2/3 c), and butter (5T) with the currents supposedly going in with the milk at the end. I'll try doing it according to the recipe next time. Oh yes, bake at 400 F for 15 minutes. I did mine on parchment paper.

I served them with homemade raspberry jam and they got a big thumbs up from the critics here at home.
